The assumption is that the specific form of bullying dictates our response. And it doesn’t. Not really. Because they are all following the same dynamic and the protocol to get unwanted behavior – whatever it is and whatever we call it – to stop is the same.
Don’t allow managers who are afraid of false reports being levied against them stop you from taking this seriously.
Kids learn this behavior early and if we are going to avoid the bullying horror stories that arise in middle school, we need to start teaching our youngest kids not to bully and we do that by making sure bullying doesn’t ever work for them so that they learn it isn’t a good strategy.
