What works to get bullying to stop. Most people have no idea so they propose solutions they think will work but won’t. If we are going to be successful, the first step is to find out what science says works. If we want to stop a behavior, we have to use behavioral science to do it. Everything else – is guessing.
Chronic bullying is a lot like stalking. If your bully can’t get to you one way, they will try another. This is why bullying often ends up online, something we now call cyberbullying or cyber stalking.
While every state has a stalking law that defines harassment, not every state defines harassment in such a way that would include cyber-harassment/stalking. It turns out that some states required direct contact between victim and harasser in order for it to be harassment.
