My big goal is to change the entire industry that does harassment training so that all training provide the information people actually need to make a better future possible.
Bullying can have lasting effects, including a bitterness towards certain individuals. It is hard to move on and forgive, but if things happen when you are a kid, understand that people change.
When you deal with bullying, if they don’t feel that you have treated them fairly – they will start to lose their trust in you. Is it any wonder that so few report what is happening?
The problem is that the most effective bullying prevention programs don’t help everyone. They help encourage kids to be “upstanders” but they don’t really do much to help kids who are dealing with a chronic bullying problem. Once bullying has become chronic, what the kids need now is to be taught how to get it to stop.
