What works is to no longer respond to the bullying the way the bully wants. Being upset and angry – is an emotional response. Your anger, may actually be rewarding to the bully. That’s the first reason to not allow your anger to consume you.
It’s amazing that such a small tweak to how you think can make such a big difference. So don’t hate your bully, feel compassion for them.
Hate isn’t a weapon. It’s an emotion. It’s an outgrowth of anger and it’s part of our emotional toolkit for a reason. It helps us know when there is a problem that needs to be fixed because bad things are occurring.
When it comes to bullies – we all hate bullies. But – is that even a good response?
