You can’t just ask a bully to stop and have them stop. Getting them to stop takes time and consistency. How long does this process take? That depends on how long the bullying has been going on and how “addicted” to bullying they are.
So yes, these techniques can be used for evil. And they are, all the time. What I hope to accomplish by teaching them is enabling victims to resist so that they are not harmed by those who would do evil to them.
How do you set a boundary and enforce it. Once you know what your boundary is, you need to decide on a signal to let other people know – they have crossed that boundary. This signal is a delta.
Yielding is strategic, not just for bullying, but for any negative interaction really. Even if you are just yielding to get away, you are still using yielding strategically. Yielding is not a sign of weakness, it’s a sign of intelligence and strength. Use it wisely.
