It’s hard to be a compassionate person when you are afraid. You may not feel like it and you may think your anger is justified. Here’s a little tip. Compassion will help you feel better – immediately. Do this for you, not your bully.
One of the hardest things to do – when you are being bullied, is to practice compassion. Bullies are scary. It’s hard to even think of being nice when we are scared. In fact, it’s hard to think at all when we are scared.
Hate isn’t a weapon. It’s an emotion. It’s an outgrowth of anger and it’s part of our emotional toolkit for a reason. It helps us know when there is a problem that needs to be fixed because bad things are occurring.
We all have our moments when we feel angry and/or afraid. The question is – how well can we control our response when this happens?
