This video lesson is in response to some kids who have take the tookit. They wanted to know, how long will this take? Once you trigger an extinction burst, then what?
The answer depends on what exactly has been going on. How long the bully has been getting away with it and whether or not you are consistently reporting them for bad behavior.
The more consistent you are the quicker you will cycle a bully through an extinction burst. Remember. A bully is going to become more aggressive for a short time. This increased level of aggression will make it easier for teachers and parents to see what exactly has been happening to you and will move them to intervene fairly quickly. Most times, if you are consistent, teachers will start truly intervening within a week. Sometimes it may take longer, for instance if it only happens every once in a while. But stick at it. Be consistent in your response and reporting and you will see results fairly quickly.
